What was your background and motivated you to start or continue a career in sales from whatever else you were doing?

"I always enjoyed talking to and connecting with people so sales was a natural fit. It helps you develop in every aspect of your personal/professional life moving forward. It’s also totally self-determined. You decide your own salary in sales, which was right for me."

What’s your best advice for interviewing for the SDR Role given the competitive landscape and the current demand for higher quality talent?

"Look into the company in advance and see if you’re selling a product/service you might actually be interested in. It’s much harder to sell something you’re not passionate about.

Be honest about your strengths and weaknesses. Be open to coaching and make sure the company you’re applying for is willing to train you in sales.

Ask about comp + commish ranges. Ask if anyone on the sales team is actually hitting OTEs. If no one is hitting OTEs, don’t assume you will either. Make sure you’re compensated appropriately if you’re not."
